Ridge to Grade brings together construction and excavation experience under one practical, jobsite-focused operation. John Davidson and Jason Spaulding have each built their own companies from the ground up in southeast Wyoming — and now they're combining them to handle projects that need both.

John handles the Ridge side of the business — concrete slabs, decks, pole barns, barndominiums, and general construction work. Slabs to Shingles Construction has built a track record in southeast Wyoming on residential and rural builds, with a focus on durable work and clean execution.

Jason Spaulding
Spaulding Construction
Jason has spent more than 30 years moving earth for a living — and it shows. He got his start in excavation in Jackson Hole in 1994, learning the trade in some of Wyoming's most demanding terrain, and never really stopped. That work continued through 32 years of service in the Army National Guard, where the mission and the machinery were different but the discipline was the same: show up, do the job right, and leave the site better than you found it.
Today Jason focuses on the work that sets every other project up for success — foundations, septic systems, driveways, drainage, and residential site preparation across southeast Wyoming. He knows this ground, this weather, and exactly what it takes to get a site ready before the first concrete is poured or the first post is set.
What customers consistently come back for isn't just the quality of the work — it's the straightforwardness. Jason doesn't oversell, doesn't overpromise, and doesn't cut corners to win a bid. He treats every project as if his reputation depends on it, because as far as he's concerned, it does.

The name is the idea
Grade is the site — the dirt, drainage, foundation, and groundwork every project starts with. Ridge is the roofline — the structure that goes up once the ground is ready. Together, they represent a project covered from start to finish.
Most contractors do one or the other. Ridge to Grade does both, with experienced operators on each side who've been doing this work in southeast Wyoming for years.
